Bacharach Summary

Let’s see, what did you miss? I’m still having wifi problems and the upcoming hotel on Sept. 9th doesn’t have wifi, so expect infrequent updates. We are in Bacharach, a tiny tourist town, but not crowded. I went searching for a hotspot while walking around and I sat at an outdoor table of a restaurant, a waitress came over and was very nice to me and got me hooked up to their wifi, so we went there for dinner, just because she was nice and we needed a place to eat. I had the saurbraten, yummy.

Long travel day summary

We left our hotel in London at 5:35am, took the Tube, Eurostar, Thalys, IC, and TR trains to Bacharach Germany, arriving at 6:30pm. Europe is 1 hour ahead of the UK. So 12 hours of travel. I can’t believe we arrived exactly when we planned. We took some small chances with two of the trains, but they weren’t big chances because we knew the right direction to go and the train stations are pretty well signed. A guy from our hotel was waiting at the train station in Bacharach and drove us up the hill, not very far. Very nice of them to do that. They close their front desk at 6pm, so he had to stay late to get us checked in. Having trouble connecting to the internet, so I’ll try to post some pictures tomorrow.

Late train

Arrived in Cologne, our next train is 25 min late, which would cause us to miss the train after that, so we got on a different train which hopefully is going to the right place 🙂 Koblenz.
