The White Tower is the oldest part of the Tower of London, built from 1077-1097. We also got to see the crown jewels, but they really enforce the ‘no pictures’ rule, and I didn’t want to experience the dungeon first hand.

Part of the Tower of London was built around the London Wall, originally built by the Romans around 2000 years ago. I think only the very bottom of this ruin is original to that time period.

Another busy walking day. Feet and legs are tired. Almost blew up the hair dryer this morning. All of the electronics we’ve brought run on 240, and all of them except the hair dryer don’t require any human intervention, but the hair dryer has a switch and I remembered really quick that it was still pointing at 120.
By the way, the time and date that you see on each post is local time. It’s after 4am in London right now. Oh bummer, I could have been listening to the Cubs game, good to see they won. But I can still catch part of the Mariners game. What did people do before the Internet?
