The annual road trip to Vancouver to take in a Canucks game. This year they played the Calgary Flames. The Flames sent out their 4th line (the bruisers and thugs) to start the game, so Vancouver sent out its 4th line to match them. Normally, teams start their 1st line (the best players). The game started and everyone dropped their gloves. All ten skaters (everyone but the goalies) were beating each other up. 8 of the 10 players got kicked out of the game, all 10 got penalties. This was at the 2 second mark of the game. It took them 20 minutes to sort out the penalties and clean the blood off the ice. I’m not a fan of the fighting. That left both teams depleted, each team missing 4 players, so everyone seemed tired by the end of the game.

The Canucks won 3-2 in a shoot-out.

Denise with her Tim Hortons hot chocolate while walking Robson St. BC Place, across the street from our hotel. (Not the location of the hockey game, that’s Rogers Arena). The BC Lions (CFL) and Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS) play here. We had front row upper deck center seats. Warm up. Before the fight. After the fight. Penalty boxes can’t hold 5 people at one time. We win.
