Cheap Trick 4/12/08

Switching to a new, larger picture size. Everyone has broadband by now, right? I finally broke down and bought a better camera.

Went to see the best band ever, Cheap Trick, in Richmond, BC. They sounded great as usual. The sound dropped out a bit after Denise broke the speaker in front of us. (just kidding, she didn’t really break it). Somehow I’ve managed to snag front row tickets the last two times Cheap Trick has played in BC. Not using a scalper either, just ticketmaster.ca. They played at a casino, and the two casinos we’ve seen them at in BC are way better than the one casino we’ve been to in WA. We went to see Loverboy at a casino in Tacoma at the end of last year and we could barely breath with all the smoke. Washington is a smoke free state, except the casinos. In BC, the casinos have a smoking room, but the rest of the place is smoke free. Very nice. And as I’ve mentioned before, I love going to Canada. Colorful money, driving 100 and Tim Hortons. On the way home, we saw a giant eagle perched on a street light over the expressway just south of Richmond.

This is how close we were. You weren’t supposed to take pictures. Oops. There was an aisle in front of the front row. The last time we had front row tickets, the aisle filled in, so we ended up in what would have been about the sixth row. This time, we stood in the aisle, right up against the stage. Denise touched Rick’s shoe. He put his foot on the floor speaker (the one Denise broke), so she touched his shoe. Can’t leave without at least one pick.
