The Big Four Mountain is named after an impression the snow makes in the side of the mountain which looks like a “4”. The caves are made by warm air flowing under the snowfield. About an hour and a half drive. Denise is pictured here about 100 yards away. The openings are quite large, over 6 feet, but we didn’t venture too close as we didn’t want to die in a cave in. It was August and warm outside. Standing in front of the openings is like being in front of nature’s air conditioner.
