The annual trip to Chicago. We went to a Jim Peterik concert on Friday and did a behind the scenes tour of Wrigley Field on Tuesday. My apologies to everyone whose picture is missing. I neglected to take pictures of everyone. It’s never the first thing on my mind.
We landed and immediately drove to Ricobene’s by Comiskey (I mean US Cellular) for breaded steak sandwiches. We went there again for lunch on Tuesday. Traffic was bad, LA bad. It took an hour and fifty minutes to get from Oakbrook Terrace to Wrigley Field (Google Maps says 40 minutes without traffic).
Jim Peterik (Survivor, Ides of March, Pride of Lions) had an “unplugged” concert, with Jack Blades from Night Ranger and Jeff Carlisi from 38 Special. 2 hours of hits. Great show. Here’s Blades and Peterik.
After the show with friends, Ed, Kevin, Lisa, Tom and Sheri.
Denise’s nephews and sister, Mike, Alex and Shelly
Ed’s little niece Carrie, going to Notre Dame in the fall.
Ed’s sister Liz and parents
Before we caught our flight home, we went on a tour of Wrigley Field. The Cubs were out of town so we got to go inside the Cubs’ and visitor’s club houses, a ‘skybox’, the press box, and in the dugout. I was hoping we’d get to go inside the scoreboard, but no, they say it’s too hard to get into with a group of people. You won’t be able to tell by the pictures below, but the place was a hive of activity. There are a lot of people working even though there is no game today.

The Cubs clubhouse, and Zambrano’s locker.
In the clubhouse, they had framed jerseys of the retired Cubs’ numbers. There was also a poster with the rules about how to wear your uniform.
I look good there, maybe the Cubs will fire Lou and give me a call.
It was raining.
