We are staying in Chamonix France, home of the 1924 winter Olympics. It’s a big ski location in winter, but in summer, you can go up the mountain in a cable car, and if the weather cooperates, see Mont Blanc. We did not succeed. We only gave ourselves one day to see Mont Blanc because you never know when you’ll get a good day. We could stay for a week and never see it. And we didn’t have a week. It’s supposed to be bad weather tomorrow too, so we don’t feel so bad.

Back down in Chamonix. The weather wasn’t getting any better at the top of the mountain. Very windy and cloudy. Couldn’t tell if it was currently snowing or if it was just blowing. Today was our one shot at seeing Mont Blanc. Bummer.

Can’t see Mont Blanc, too cloudy. Waiting to see if it clears.
