Getting to Pont du Gard (old Roman aqueduct) required a little work. Took the train from Arles to Avignon (15 min), then an intercity bus near to Pont du Gard (45 min), then after visiting the site, another bus to Nimes (45 min), then a train back to Arles (25 min). The bus lets you off about a 10 minute walk to the site. When I planned the trip, I had downloaded the bus schedules. Sometime after we left home, they changed all the bus numbers, the 169 became the A15. The times changed by a couple of minutes too.

We have about a half an hour until the restaurants open for dinner. They don’t open until 7 or 7:30pm. I think if I started a restaurant here with hours from 5-7pm I’d make a fortune. There were so many people milling about outside the restaurants last night waiting for them to open. Maybe I’m just a stupid American but if I owned a restaurant, and someone wanted to give me their money, I’d let them, even if it’s only 5:47pm.

Went to Pont du Gard today. I’ll post pictures in a little while. It was awesome
