South of downtown Phoenix is the South Mountain Park. At over 16,000 acres, South Mountain Park/Preserve is the largest municipal park in the country. I’m not sure is qualifies as a mountain at a little over 2300 feet, buy who am I to judge.
One day, we drove south to Tucson to the Saguaro National Park. It’s a forest of cacti. A saguaro catus can live up to 200 years. It may take over 60 years to reach 6 feet in height. After 75 years they sprout their first arms. Saguaros can grow to be 50 feet tall and are the largest cactus in the U.S.

The Chicago Blackhawks were in town to play the Phoenix Coyotes. We bought some tickets in the nose bleed seats. They said the game was a sell out, but I saw quite a few empty seats. The Hawks won.
