Day 4 & 5 - Sep 4 & 5, 2008
Last updated: 9/7/08 12:00am PT

Day 4 we went to the Royal BC Museum. It has exhibits covering the history of BC. Outside were some totem poles.

Recommended restaurant: The Noodle Box. Basically it’s just noodles, veggies and meat stir fried with spices/sauces, but it was tasty.

After that, we ran out of things to do. So we drove up the east side of the island. We drove through Duncan (city of totems), and then to Chemainus (city of murals). I’d recommend skipping both of these towns, although Chemainus had a bunch of little shops that might be interesting to some people.

Day 5 was the drive home. After we got off the ferry in Tsawwassen, we drove south to Point Roberts. Point Roberts is a geographic anomaly because it lies south of the 49th parallel. (see the map). It is part of Washington, but you can only get there by driving south from Canada. It’s a peninsula that is about 2 miles North to South and 3 miles East to West. We drove all the way to the south end, to Lighthouse Park. There was no lighthouse.
