Day 1 - Sep 1, 2008 Last updated: 9/7/08 11:00am PT
Victoria is the capital of British Columbia and is located on Vancouver Island. It has a pleasant climate, like Seattle. When I listen to the radio at home, it is usually CKKQ-FM in Victoria, so it was nice to match some places with their names. The main reason for this trip was to go zip lining. Why is it that the main reason for a trip is never to relax? 🙂
We took the ferry out of Tsawwassen, BC. There are ferries from Washington, but they only run twice a day. The BC ferries run every hour. Crossing time is 1.5 hours. It was a little windy.
Here’s the parliament building, a totem pole and a statue of Queen Victoria.
Victoria is supposed to have a British feel, but really it is just a city with a touristy area downtown. Sure, they have double decker busses (old ones for the tourists, new ones for the commuters) but so does Seattle.
But they do have a lot of Smart cars and Darth Vader playing the fiddle.
