A Swiss Franc is pretty close to a US dollar.

Everyone smokes here. Even the teenagers. Can’t breathe while waiting in line for the rides.

We went to Europa Park today. It’s themed like Epcot (disclaimer: never been to Epcot). Each section of the park represents a different country. But it’s not a good representation. My research failed me here. There are only 2 mega coasters, some might say extreme coasters. I thought there were 9 coasters, and there might be, but they are pretty wimpy. Lots of stuff for kids. Not worth the effort to get there. One coaster does a lot of loops, and the other drops you from over 200 feet almost straight down, and I think topped out around 90 mph.

I’m sitting in the bathroom in our hotel in Basel, Switzerland. No, it’s not what you think. We are staying at the Ibis Hotel, yes it’s a major chain which we said we weren’t doing. We are in Basel for about 15 hours, so we opted for convenience. This hotel is on the same block as the train station and the same block for the bus stop we need to get us to the airport tomorrow. It’s brand new, has AC, but it has special power outlets that require a different adapter, which they will gladly sell to you for 10 Swiss Francs (I paid $1 for mine). I’m in the bathroom because the hair dryer they provide has a special outlet, intended for razors, and my adapter fits into this one.
