Brighton

Today we went to Brighton. We debated for a while about going due to rain, but decided to go anyway. Train ride was about one and a quarter hours each way. Brighton is sort of a summer touristy town. Lots of shops selling knickknacks, food and candy. The pier has a bunch of arcade and video games for kids. It looked like there are rides of some type in better weather, we saw then assembling something.   There’s not a whole lot to do there on rainy spring days, so we only stayed a couple of hours.

Other sights of the day

Went to the Victoria and Albert museum and tried to remember what we saw last time. We remembered more than we thought.

Walked past the Royal Albert Hall.

Went to the Royal College of Music, which has a small museum in its basement with old musical instruments. I think the oldest was from the 1400’s.  They had a lot of instruments that were not labeled with years.

Sherlock Holmes Museum

221B Baker Street is the fictional home of Sherlock Holmes. There is a museum containing items that were fictionally owned by fictional Holmes. And of course there’s a gift shop.
