Day quattordici, Travel from Sorrento, Italy to Chamonix, France.
This was a long travel day. We left about 8:00am. We had to take the hotel’s shuttle bus to Sorrento’s train station, then take the local train (for about an hour) to Naples. Then we had to find the bus to the airport. Our flight was scheduled for 12:45. Unfortunately a big rain storm went through and we were delayed for two hours. So we landed around 4:30, then had an hour and a half shuttle bus ride to Chamonix, France.
During the trip, language was not much of an issue, unless I asked a question that didn’t get a yes or no answer. In Naples, I asked someone in Italian where I could find the bus to the airport. They gave what seemed like a 5 sentence answer in Italian. When I stared at them with a dumb look on my face, they said in English, ‘over there, to the left’.
During our stay in Italy, we ate pizza, pizza, pizza, gelato, gelato, gelato, cannelloni, gnocchi, ravioli, and fusilli.
