Day 21 - Sep 21, 2009 Last updated: 10/17/09 11:00am PT
Day vingt-et-un, Fly from Paris to London, then to Seattle.
Today we flew home. When planning the trip, I was hoping to get non-stop flights in both directions, but we’d have to use two airlines to accomplish that, and it would be very expensive to buy one way tickets on two separate airlines. I wanted a non-stop flight to cover the greatest distance, so that meant London. The flight from Paris to London was only an hour and 20 minutes. The flight to Seattle was 9.5 hours. On the flight home, we were able to reserve bulkhead seats, so there was plenty of leg room. I was much happier. We had a few hours in between flights in London, so we had lunch at Wagamama, a very tasty noodle restaurant.
It was a great trip. 3 weeks went by so fast. We were alway on the go, we saw so many things. Since we’ve been back, everyone has asked us what our favorite thing was. It is hard to pick favorite things because so much of what we saw was great. Our top two sites were the big old Roman and Greek structures (Pont du Gard and Paestum). Favorite meal was the fish and chips in London. Best dessert was gelato in Italy. Best train ride, any of the high speed trains. Best airplane ride, none.
