This was not one of our normal vacations. Frequently, we never stay in the same hotel more than 2 nights. This time we were in the same place for almost 2 weeks. This trip was a family vacation (Denise’s family). We were only on the island of Oahu.
We saw a couple of museums, Pearl Harbor, the North Shore, watched (on TV) the Blackhawks fight for the third Stanley Cup in 6 seasons, visited with Denise’s relatives (a bunch live there), went to a luau, and went on a couple of hikes (one to the top of Diamond Head).

On the North Shore we had lunch at a food truck called Mackey’s Sweet Shrimp Truck. We had the butter garlic shrimp plate lunch.
On the drive to the Makapuu Point lighthouse trail, and the lighthouse. The trail is only a mile each way, paved, with not too steep of an incline, but it seemed like a really long hike due to the heat and lack of shade.
