Southwest 2016

Day 8 - Sep 10, 2016
Last updated: 9/14/16 1:00pm PT

Today we hiked the Navajo Trail in Bryce Canyon. It’s a fairly easy hike but does have a big elevation change. This was a very nice hike.

On our drive back to Las Vegas, we cut through Zion National Park. We did not stop to hike, we only took a few pictures from the road.

In Las Vegas, we stayed off the strip, at a Hampton Inn in the suburb of Henderson. Dinner was at the Sunset Station Casino for the ‘Feast’ buffet. This casino was next to our hotel. It was cheaper (less than half the price) and better than Harrah’s.

Entering Bryce Canyon by car.

Bryce Canyon at the top. It was cold. There was frost on the car this morning.

This pillar fell last night. We walked past it and there was a park ranger sizing up the damage.

Drove through Zion. It was a very pretty drive.

There is a tunnel through the rock. Here we see an opening into that tunnel.
