New England 2014

Day 5 - Sep 3, 2014
Last updated: 9/17/14 8:00pm PT

This morning we went to the Pointe-à-Callière museum, an archaeological museum built on top of old ruins from the time of the earliest settlers in Montreal. I think more interesting than some of the ruins was the temporary exhibit on Marco Polo.

After lunch at Noobox (a noodle restaurant), we went on a tour of the Centre Bell, home of the Montreal Canadiens. It takes 7 days to prepare the ice for hockey. There are five layers of ice, and today they were putting down the decals on top of layer 3.

The press box is VERY high.

We also spent some time in the Canadiens Hockey Hall of Fame.

After dinner at TA Pies (meat pies), we went to the McCord Museum of Canadian history. It was free after 5pm on Wednesdays.
