Hall of Fame Tour 2025

Philadelphia & Doylestown PA

Sunday Apr 13, 2025

Lunch was cheesesteaks at Dalessandro’s in Philly. A highly rated place that appears on many travel/food shows. It was a disappointment. I’ll take a Chicago Italian Beef any day.

After lunch we drove about an hour north to Doylestown, PA. We visited the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works where they’ve been creating hand-made tiles for over 100 years. There are many different tiles on display and we watched someone make custom tiles for a fireplace mantle.

The man who created the tile factory was a bit of a pack rat. He would travel around the world and collect tools and other items from the pre-industrial age, all of which are on display at the Mercer Museum. I think the building is six stories tall.

A short drive out of town took us to a Peepshow.

It was near Easter, so there was a display of art created using Peeps. Some looked professionally done while others were done by the local kids. It was in a small outdoor mall called Peddler’s Village.
